POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State soccer fell 4-0 to Gonzaga on Sept. 20 in Spokane, Wash.
The Bulldogs went ahead 1-0 in the first and put up three more goals in the second leading them to a 4-0 victory.
"I thought the team executed the game plan terrifically in the first half," Head Coach
Debs Brereton said. "
Katie Hogarth was the spearhead of our defense, with some incredible saves to keep Gonzaga at bay."
Senior
Katie Hogarth recorded a new season game-high 11 saves on the match to defend Gonzaga's 15 shots on goal.
"I am very proud of the effort and focus the team maintained in the first half," Brereton said. "Gonzaga are quite the quality team and punished us for a few lapses of focus in the second half. As tough as it is to lose, coming away from home and showing the strength we did defensively bodes very well for us moving forward. Sometimes games like these can really help us improve, learn, and we continue to make strides together."
Sophomore
Karlin Wurlitzer had the only shot for the Bengals.
