Soccer Falls 4-1 to Wyoming

Box Score

POCATELLO, Idaho –
Idaho State soccer fell 4-1 to Wyoming on Sept. 8 in Laramie, Wyoming.

Five minutes into the first half Wyoming scored from a header off of a corner kick and would later score again to gain a 2-0 lead.

Senior Jazmin Lopez scored her first goal of the season, assisted by senior Makena Bambei, to put the Bengals on the board before the end of the first half.

The Cowgirls put up another two goals 12 minutes into the second half, leading them to a 4-1 victory.

"A very disappointing day for our team," Head Coach Debs Brereton said. We had an effective game plan coming in that was not executed to the best of our abilities. We created many very good chances that lacked composure in front of goal. Credit to Wyoming for capitalizing on some of our defensive errors. This is a resilient group and we will bounce back when we return home next week."

Senior goalkeeper Katie Hogarth tied her season-high eight saves.

Idaho State returns home on Friday, Sept. 13 to host Saint Mary's at 11:30 a.m. (MST) on Davis Field.

Admission to the game is $7 for adults, $5 for kids, and free for ISU students and are available for purchase at the gate.

The match will have Live Video streaming on Pluto TV channel 543, Live Stats, and Audio brought to you by KISU 91.1.
