POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team begins Big Sky Conference play on Dec. 22-23 at Northern Colorado. Both games begin at 2 p.m. Both games can be seen on Pluto TV Channel 1059.

Northern Colorado has won the last seven meetings against the Bengals. The Bengals last victory was 73-69 in Greeley on Jan. 19, 2017.

Recapping Last Week
The Idaho State men's basketball team went 3-0 last week, beating Bethesda 87-48, and SAGU American Indian College, 89-54 and 113-46. In the three games Robert Ford III led the Bengal offense, scoring 17 points a game and averaging nine rebounds. He has 12 assists to only four turnovers with eight steals. He shot .696 from and was 8-13 from the three-point line.
Brayden Parker averaged 15 points and six rebounds while
Tarik Cool scored 13.7 points and
Daxton Carr, 10.7. Idaho State shot .538 percent and held its opponents to .312 percent. ISU shot .418 from the three-point line and .789 percent from the free throw line. The Bengals out rebounded Bethesda and SAGU 45.3-26.7.
Crashing the Boards
Idaho State has had success rebounding the basketball since
Ryan Looney has been head coach. This year his team is out rebounding opponents 40.1-28.1 Last year the Bengals won the battle of the boards 32.9-32.1. Idaho State out rebounded teams in 15 of 30 games despite being undersized.
First Impressions
Robert Ford III has the made a good first impression as a Bengal. The 6-0 junior guard is first on the team in rebound at 7.3 boards a game and he has scored in double figures in six of the first seven games. He had 10 points and 10 rebounds at Utah on Dec. 8. He also had seven boards vs. UC Davis. In the second game against SAGU Ford had 26 points on 8-8 shooting and a season-best 16 rebounds.
Brayden Parker is second on the team in rebounding at six a game and he averages 9.7 points.
