PDF Box Score

POCATELLO, Idaho–
The Idaho State women's basketball team took down the Sacramento State Hornets, 75-51, on Saturday afternoon in Sacramento, Calif.

"So many great moments," said Head Coach Seton Sobolewski. "So many great people stepping up. One of my favorites is Carsyn hitting those back-to-back threes. Through foul trouble, I thought Callie was a rock for us in terms of helping take care of the ball, rebounding, and being another guard that can handle the ball when Sac wanted to pressure. There were so many great contributions from different people. I'm really happy."

ISU set the pace with a double-digit lead throughout most of the game with a game high 27-point lead at 71-44 in the fourth quarter. The Orange and Black shot 53 percent (32-60) from the field and 40 percent (10-25) from three while holding the Hornets to under 25 percent from both. The Bengals grabbed 45 boards led by Callie Bourne with nine and Delaney Moore with a season-high eight.

Three Bengals reached double digit points led by Dora Goles and Ellie Smith with 14 and Bourne with 13 in her 11th consecutive double digit game. Carsyn Boswell hit a career-high nine points after sinking three 3s. Smith's 14 points ties her career-high.

The Bengals went on a 9-2 run to start the game. Sac State closed in at 9-6 before ISU took off going on a 10-3 run in the final three minutes of the quarter to lead 22-9. Goles was unstoppable, nailing four 3s in the quarter.

The Hornets would attempt to come back in the second quarter, cutting the Bengal lead to six at 27-21 with three minutes left in the first half. Two three-pointers from Boswell and Jordan Sweeney and a jumper from Montana Oltrogge brought ISU back to a double-digit lead to end the half up 35-25.

Goles put up 12 points in the half, going 4-8 from the field and sinking four of ISU's seven threes. ISU held the Hornets to 25 percent from the field and from three.

Idaho State continued its hot shooting streak in the second half to maintain their double-digit lead through the end of the game. The Bengals had 17 points coming off the bench in the second half.

ISU returns to Pocatello for a three-game home streak starting on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. (MST) against Montana State. Idaho State hosts Montana on Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. (MST) and Weber State at 7 p.m. (MST) on Feb. 20.
