POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State volleyball team dropped the first game of its series with Sacramento State 3-0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-21) Jan. 30 in Sacramento.
The first set went to the Hornets 18-25. In the second set, both teams went back and forth and it required extra points for the Hornets to win the set 27-25.
The third set saw the Bengals take an early lead but the Hornets ended the match on a 7-0 run to win the set 25-21 and the match 3-0.
The Bengals hit .150 on the match with 32 kills on 107 attacks. Sadie Gardner led the team with 9 kills on 28 attacks. Danielle Devlin followed with 8 kills on 17 attacks.
The Bengals were out blocked 10 to eight. Taylor Meeks led the team with one solo block and five block assists.
Mahala Bradburn recorded 12 digs in her two sets as Libero.
The Bengals are back in action tomorrow, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. MST to face the Hornets in game two of the series.
