POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State soccer fell to Northern Arizona 2-0 Sunday afternoon in Flagstaff.
The two teams battled back and forth the first 45 minutes of the match and ended the first half in a 0-0 tie.
The second half continued with both teams battling back and forth.
In the 45th minute of the match, NAU was awarded a penalty kick on a Bella Anderson foul. Staring down the NAU player, McKayla Wetsel made a diving save at the line for her seventh save of the match.
Despite a strong Bengal defense, NAU was able to net two goals in the second half and end the match with the 2-0 victory.
For the second match in a row Wetsel set a new career high in saves with 12.
The Bengals are back home next week for the final homestand of the season.
