FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.- The Idaho State football team lost 48-17 to Northern Arizona on Saturday afternoon in the Walkup SkyDome.
The Bengals had 363 yards of total offense while NAU finished with 649. ISU rushed for 149 yards, led by
Oshea Trujillo's 44 on six carries.
Hunter Hays threw one touchdown on 19-for-39, 218 yards and three interceptions.
Tanner Conner caught six passes for 78 yards.
The Bengals struck first, scoring on their opening drive.
Hunter Hays, who started at quarterback, led the Bengals on a six play, 75 yard scoring drive that was capped off by
Benjamin Omayebu's 17-yard touchdown reception from Hays.
Northern Arizona then scored 23 straight points to lead 23-7 at halftime. Idaho State trailed 30-7 before
David Allish connected on a 37-yard field goal with 9:43 left in the third quarter to cut its deficit to 30-10.
NAU led 48-10 before Sagen Gronauer scored on a one-yard run with 1:20 left in the game.
Idaho State returns home to host UC Davis, on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m.
