POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State returns home to host No. 7 UC Davis on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Holt Arena. The game will be televised on ESPN + with Dylan Carder and Kody Graves calling the action.

Scouting UC Davis
UC Davis enters Saturday's game with a 5-0 record and a 19-17 road win at FBS foe Tulsa.
The offense is averaging 35.2 points a game with a 187 coming on the ground and 244.2 yards through the air. Ulonzo Gilliam Jr. leads the rushing attack with 94 carries for 422 yards and four touchdowns. Hunter Rodrigues has thrown for 858 yards, six touchdown and only one interception. Jared Harrell is the top receiver with 25 receptions for 351 yards and three touchdowns. Chris Venable leads the defense with 31 tackles and two interceptions.
Special Teams Success
Idaho State currently ranks No. 1 in the country and in the conference for kickoff returns with an average of 39.60 yards a return. The Bengals rank second in the country and in net punting with an average of 44.7. Idaho State is 27th in the country in punt return defense and second in the conference at four yards a return.
Kevin Ryan is second in the nation in the punting and first in the conference at 48.6 yards a punt.
NCAA Rankings
Idaho State ranks first in fewest penalties per game at 3.5 and third in fewest penalties at 14. Benji Omayebu ranks second in the country and conference in kickoff returns for touchdown with one.
Jayden Dawson is fourth in the nation and second in the conference in passes defended.
Connor Wills ranks No. 11 in the nation and first in the conference in solo tackles at six a game.

The Bengals are 2-30 against FBS teams since the 2000 season, beating Utah State 27-24 in 2000 and Nevada in 2017. Conner Approaching Receiving Record Book
During
Tanner Conner's career he has caught 98 passes for 1,667 yards and 13 touchdowns. Conner is five receiving touchdowns away from moving into No. 10 in the ISU career record book as Rodrick Rumble (2009-12) and Tom Hoffmann (1970-74) each had 18 receiving touchdowns. Conner needs 538 yards to move into the Top 10 for most receiving yards. Madison Mangum (2013-15) is currently in 10th place with 2,204 receiving yards.
Bengals Against Ranked Teams
Last spring the Bengals played five of their six games against ranked teams. The spring 2021 season and the 2008 team are the only teams who have played five ranked teams in one season. Idaho State opened last year vs. No. 4 Weber State. On March 13, ISU played No. 13 Eastern Washington and on March 27 the Bengals played at No. 15/19 UC Davis. Weber State was ranked No. 2 in the final polls in the spring 2021 before the playoffs began.
Idaho State has only three wins vs. ranked opponents on the road.
