POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State Volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-15, 25-9, 26-24) to Weber State Saturday afternoon in Reed Gym.
The Wildcats got off to an early lead in the match after winning the first set 25-15. In Set two the Wildcats went on a 9-1 run en route to a 25-9 Set 3 victory.
Rather than give up, the Bengals came out swinging in Set 3 starting the set on a 5-2 run. The Bengals grew the lead to four at 14-10 after a kill by Raegan Kunz. The two teams would battle back and forth over the remainder of the set, going to extra points before the Wildcats were able to take the 3rd set 26-24 and the match 3-0.
Bengal Outside Hitter Sadie Gardner lead the team in kills with 11. Kunz came in just after her with 9.
Kennedee Tracy led the team in digs and recorded a solo block.
The Bengals are back in action tomorrow for game two of the series with Weber. First serve is set for 3 p.m. MT.
