POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State volleyball team fell in game two against Weber State 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-10) Sunday afternoon.
The Bengals started the game strong, trading points back and forth with the conference leading wildcats until Weber was able to pull ahead by three points at 10-13. The Bengals came back and pulled to 15-16 after a kill by Sadie Gardner.
After that kill, the wildcats pulled away and won set 1 25-17.
Instead of breaking down after the first set loss, the Bengals came out swinging, trading points with Weber and going up 21-19 after a service ace by Andri Dewey. Weber was able to close the gap to 21 each and the two teams traded points before Weber went up 24-21.
Facing Set point twice, the Bengals didn't back down with Taylor Meeks getting two kills before Weber was able to get the set point and win Set 2 25-23. The Bengals hit a game high .234 in the set.
Weber was able to pull away in the 3rd and win the match 3-0.
Three Bengals recorded double-digit digs in the match. Rachael Driskell led the team with 12 digs and added 11 assists to her statline. She was followed by Danielle Devlin and Kennedee Tracy who both had 10 digs.
Taylor Meeks finished the game with five kills on 15 attacks and lead the team with five blocks.
Dewey led the team in assists with 27.
The Bengals head to Portland State next weekend to face the Vikings in the last series of the season.
