POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State football team lost to No. 15 UC Davis 31-27 on Saturday afternoon in Davis, Calif., after the Aggies scored the game-winning touchdown with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Idaho State trailed 24-20 after the opening seconds of the fourth quarter. Later in the quarter, the Bengals went ahead 27-24 after

Xavier Guillory open on a 32-yard touchdown pass with 3:42 left in the game. The scoring drive took 4:57 off the clock.
UC Davis then drove 75 yards on 10 plays and scored the game-winning touchdown with eight seconds left in the game.
Idaho State had 373 yards of total offense, 147 coming on the ground and 226 through the air. The Bengal defense held the Aggies to 303 yards of total offense.
Tyler Vander Waal was 17-33 with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He threw for 226 yards.
Tanner Conner caught four balls for 66 yards and
Xavier Guillory caught two passes, both being touchdowns, for 56 yards.
Kevin Ryan was 2-3 kicking field goals, connecting on kicks of 33 and 32.
Darian Green and
Rasheed Williams each had eight tackles. Green had three tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
Jacob Jones had seven tackles and one sack.
Kennon Smith had four tackles, one sack and one interception.
Terrance Jones also had a fumble recovery.
The first half was a tight defensive battle as UC Davis led 14-13 after 30 minutes of play. The Aggies scored on their opening possession on an 11 play drive that took 4:45 off the clock to lead 7-0 with 10:15 left in the opening quarter.
On the ensuing drive for the Bengals, ISU drove 50 yards on eight plays that ended in a Ryan 33-yard field goal with 6:55 remaining to cut the UC Davis lead to 7-3.
On the Aggies ensuing possession they had a fourth and one on their own 34-yard line but the play was stopped for no gain thanks to tackles by
Kainoa Fuiava and Green.
Idaho State took a 10-7 lead when Vander Waal found Guillory in the end zone on 24-yard touchdown reception. With 3:30 left in the quarter.
Both defenses were stout throughout the second quarter. The Aggies took the lead at 14-10 with a touchdown with 3:50 left in the first half. ISU countered with a 12 play 61 play drive that resulted in a Ryan 32-yard field goal with 29 seconds left.
Smith closed out the half with his second career interception. Jones also recovered a first-half fumble to keep Idaho State in the game.

The Bengals opened the third quarter with a 12 play, 75 yard drive that lasted 5:08 and resulted in a Vander Waal 1-yard touchdown run. The scoring drive was highlighted by a Vander Waal 11-yard run,
Christian Fredrickson 11-yard reception, a Conner 11-yard reception and a
Jalen Henderson 22-yard reception
.
The Aggies added a touchdown in the third quarter to lead 21-20 going into the final 15 minutes.
Idaho State closes out the home spring season on Saturday, April 3 at 4 p.m. vs. the University of Idaho in the Battle of the Domes.
