POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 75-62 to Eastern Washington on Friday afternoon.
Other than an early 2-0 lead by Idaho State, Eastern Washington led the entire game. The Eagles led 47-32 at halftime and the Bengals trailed by as many as 23 points at 55-32 with 17:18 left in the game.
Idaho State made a run late in the second half to get within 10 points at 64-54 with 4:12 left after a three-pointer by
Robert Ford III.
Idaho State was led in scoring by Ford with 16 points. The Bengals had three players score in doubles figures.
Tarik Cool finished with 15, and
Malik Porter had 14.
The Bengals shot 33 percent (20-61) from the field while the Eagles shot 44 percent (27-61) and hit 12 of their first 15 field goals.
Idaho State out rebounded EWU 37-33. Porter and Ford led the Bengals on the boards with nine rebounds each.
Idaho State heads to Boise next week for the Big Sky Conference tournament. The Bengals will be the No. 4 or 5 seed and play Thursday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at Boise's ICCU Arena.
