POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State battled Weber State to a 1-1 tie in two overtimes. Complete story to follow.

POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State soccer battled for 110 minutes for a 1-1 draw with Weber State. The Bengals took advantage of playing on home field and were able to put together multiple barrages of attacks and a staunch defense that held for 109 minutes.
The Bengals started the game on the attack. After pressing multiple times into the Weber state side of the field and finally were awarded a free kick three minutes into the game. Karlin Wurlitzer took the kick from 40 yards out. There to receive the it in front of the net was Lauren McGahie, who corralled the ball and sent it past the WSU keeper and into the back of the net.
The Bengals spent the rest of the first half showing their defensive strength and turning away every Weber attack.
Going into the second half, the Bengals found more life pressing the attack with multiple looks at goal. The Bengal defense held strong until the 82nd minute. The Wildcat offense was able to slip one past Bengal goalkeeper McKayla Wetsel and tie the game at 1-1.
ISU held strong the final minutes of regulation and the two teams headed to overtime. Despite multiple offensive pushes by both teams in overtime neither team was able to net the golden goal and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Bengals had a season high seven shots while also showing a stronger offense controlling the ball for 60 percent of the game.
Michaela Didericksen led the game with three shots. McGahie had one shot and one goal. Wurlitzer also had a shot on goal.
Wetsel had a strong evening in the net. Facing a total of 21 shots, seven being on goal and recording a season high tying six saves.
The two teams were even on fouls with eight each and the Wildcats barely edged out the Bengals on corners five to four.
Seven Bengals played over 100 minutes in the match tonight.
The two teams return to ICCU field on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
