POCATELLO, Idaho- Charlie Ragle's staff is set. On Tuesday, he announced his offensive staff.
As previously announced,
Taylor Mazzone was named the offensive coordinator. He will also coach the quarterbacks. Ryan Payne has been hired as the offensive line coach, Edgar Weiser will serve as the right ends and special team's coordinator, and DJ Steward has been hired to coach the wide receivers.
David Fiefia remains on staff and will coach the running backs.
Fiefia joined the Bengal staff in 2015 and has been the running backs coach since his arrival. Fiefia has coached and mentored some of the best running backs in Idaho State history in Xavier Finney, Ty Flanagan and James Madison.
Payne comes to Pocatello after serving as the offensive line graduate assistant at Oregon State since 2018. This past year he was the 2021 Joe Moore Award Finalist and assisted in coaching an offensive line that rushed for the third most yards in school history (2,760). Payne also served as a graduate assistant at Sacramento State from 2017-18. From 2014-17 he was the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Dickinson State.
Weiser comes to Idaho State after coaching at Mississippi College since 2014. During that time he was the offensive line coach from 2014-18 and the special teams coach and wide receivers coach from 2019-21. From 2006-13 he was the offensive coordinator, special teams coordinator and offensive line coach at University of The Cumberlands. Weiser also spent time as a graduate assistant at Southern Arkansas (2001), Nebraska Omaha (2002) and Southeast Missouri State (2003). He is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University.
Steward comes to Idaho State after spending the last year as the wide receivers coach at Pittsburg State. He was also the wide receivers coach at Dayton. From March of 2020 to February of 2021 he was a graduate assistant at Ball State, a team that was crowned the 2020 MAC and Arizona Bowl Champions. Steward was the offensive coordinator at Second Baptist High School from 2018-19 and he coached the running back at DePauw from 2017-18. He graduated from DePauw in 2015.
