POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team battled Weber State tough for the first 20 minutes as the game was tied at 30 at halftime but in the second half the Wildcats outscored the Bengals by 17 to earn a 78-61 victory.
Tarik Cool had 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead Idaho State.
Liam Sorensen had 10 points.
Weber State shot 48 percent from the field while the Bengals were held to 34 percent shooting. ISU shot 29 percent in the second half while Weber State shot 53 percent in the final 20 minutes.
The Bengals were out rebounded 40-39 and had 17 turnovers.
Idaho State held a 37-36 lead four minutes into the second half after an
Emmit Taylor III 3-pointer. Weber State then went on a 17-2 run to take a 53-39 lead with 11 minutes left in the game.
Weber State led by as many as 19 points late in the second half.
Idaho State and Weber State go at it Thursday at 7 p.m. in Ogden.
