Men's Tennis Sweeps GCU 4-0 in Home Opener

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's tennis team swept Grand Canyon 4-0 on Sunday morning in Reed Gym. The win was the Bengals first of the year.

In singles competition Patrik Trhac knocked off Mariano Argote, 7-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Aleksandar Petrovic won 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

Andreas Kramer rallied to a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 for his first collegiate win of his career.

The Bengals clinched the doubles point thanks to 6-4 victories by Kramer and Patrick Kristensen at No. 2 doubles and Ege Cankus and Wikus Robbertse at No. 3 doubles.

Idaho State travels to Texas this upcoming weekend for matches against UT Rio Grande Valley on Feb. 4, Incarnate Word on Feb. 5 and Baylor on Feb. 6.
