POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's tennis team defeated Incarnate Word 4-3 on Saturday night in Waco, Texas.
The Bengals won the doubles point thanks to a 6-1 victory by
Patrik Trhac and Aleksander Petrovic at No. 1 doubles.
Patrick Kristensen and
Andreas Kramer earned a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Idaho State's three wins in singles play came at the No. 1, 3 and 5 positions.
At No. 1, Trhac won 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 over Arnau Miralles. Kramer won 4-6, 6-4, 7-6. At No. 5 singles Kristensen won 7-5, 6-4.
"I am really proud of our team tonight," Idaho State coach
Alexander Free said. "This was a gritty team win where our guys stepped up in some big moments and took the match from them. We are going to use this momentum the rest of the season and keep building on our process."
