POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State Bengals fell to the NAU Lumberjacks 1-0 at Davis Field Sunday afternoon. After giving up the lone goal 10 minutes into the match, ISU and NAU remained locked for the remaining 80 minutes of the match.
"Through halftime we were playing really hard," remarked Head Coach Dustin Downey. "I didn't think anyone was making it easy for the other team. Even though we were down, we were more with the tempo. Kelsey was great in goal, not much she could do on the goal she let in, but we played until the end, we didn't stop."
This is the fifth out of the previous six matches that the Bengals have fallen 1-0, just searching for the edge they need.
The NAU offense pressed the Bengals all match, but ISU keeper Kelsey Jargstorf stayed strong in net all match long. At the end of 90, Jargstorf had a career-high 9 saves in the net.
Four different Bengals had shots on goal and ISU ended the match with 10 shots, led by Gabby Warta's five.
The Bengals hit the road for the final trip of the season to take on Portland and Sacramento State. The Bengals then return home for the final three matches of the year.
