BOZEMAN, Montana- Idaho State football lost 37-6 to No. 4 Montana State on Saturday afternoon in front of a crowd of 21,647 at Bobcat Stadium.
The Bengals struck first on the opening possession when
Sagan Gronauer hit an open
Chedon James for a 36-yard touchdown reception with 13:24 left in the first quarter. The opening drive went 76 yards on four plays.
The Bengals turned the ball over six times and had 254 yards of total offense. The Bengals had 81 yards rushing and 173 yards passing.
Gronauer was 16-23 with one touchdown, three interceptions and 173 yards.
Raiden Hunter rushed for 31 yards.
Xavier Guillory caught a career-high eight balls for 80 yards.
Jack Genova led the defense with eight tackles while
Charles Ike and
Jake McGinnis each had six.
Montana State led 34-6 at halftime and was only able to score three points in the fourth quarter.
Idaho State returns home for two straight games as they host Cal Poly on Saturday, Oct. 15 and NAU on Saturday Oct. 22. Both games begin at 1 p.m.
