POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 70-69 to the University of Denver on Friday night in Reed Gym.
Idaho State led 69-64 with 1:27 left in the game. Denver then scored the final six points to beat the Bengals after Tommy Brunner hit a 3-pointer with one second left in the game.
Jared Rodriguez led Idaho State in scoring with 19 points. Brock Mackenzie scored 15 points and Kolby Lee had 10 points and six rebounds.
Idaho State shot 45.8 percent from the floor while Denver shot 46 percent. The Bengals were 7-18 from the three-point line and was 18-22 from the free throw line.
Idaho State out rebounded Denver 31-29. The Bengals had 14 turnovers and forced 12.
Idaho State plays at Lindenwood on Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. before traveling to Arkansas for a tournament at Central Arkansas. The Bengals will play Central Arkansas and Bethune-Cookman.
