POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State football team wrapped up the 2022 season with a 38-7 loss to No. 21 Idaho in front of a season-best crowd of 7,706 at Holt Arena.
Both teams scored on their initial drives. Benji Omayebu tied the game at seven on a 49-yard touchdown reception from
Tyler Vander Waal with 9:26 left in the first quarter.
Idaho led 24-7 at halftime and scored two second-half touchdowns.
Idaho had 467 total yards while the Bengals finished with 311.
Vander Waal was 8-21 with a touchdown pass, three interceptions and 121 passing yards. Omayebu caught five passes for 93 yards and
Soujah Gasu carried the ball 15 times for 84 yards.
Calvin Pitcher led the defense with 11 tackles and
Jake McGinnis finished with nine.
