POCATELLO, Idaho – Emrie Satuala received multiple all-conference honors announced by the Big Sky Conference this afternoon.
Satuala was named the 2022 Big Sky Outstanding Freshman and also earned 2nd team All-Big Sky Honors.
"A huge reason I took the job at ISU was because of the athlete I knew Emrie was," remarked Head Coach Sean Carter. "She is an exceptional talent, very competitive, and has the desire to be great. This is a tremendous achievement that she and the program should be proud of. I honestly believe we are only scratching the surface of what is possible for Emrie. I can't wait to see where she and the rest of our players take this program. She's only going to go up from here. I can't wait to see her lead our program in the future!"
Satuala heads into the postseason after a tremendous start to her career. In 29 matches played, she has recorded 294 kills with 2.56 kills per set average and a season-hitting percentage of .317. Emrie is now 5th all-time in the ISU record book for single-season hitting percentage.
On the net, Satuala leads the Big Sky with 136 total blocks averaging 1.18/set. In solo blocks, Satuala ranks 6th all-time at ISU with 37 in a single season.
The Bengals continue the 2022 season tomorrow in Ogden, Utah as they lead off the Big Sky Volleyball Championship against UNC at 10:00 AM.
