POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team opens the 2022-23 season with a nonconference contest at BYU on Monday, November 7 at BYU. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. It will broadcasted on KISU with Jerry Miller calling the action with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. The game can also be seen on BYU TV. 

BYU has won the last nine meeting  with the most recent meeting being an 85-71 BYU win in 2018 in Provo. Idaho State's last win was 94-87 in Pocatello during the 1977-78 season. 

This year Idaho State plays schools from seven different conferences and two non Division 1 games(WCC, Pac 12, Summitt, Ohio Valley, ASUN, WAC, MEAC). 

Idaho State is looking for its first season-opening win against a Division 1 opponent since beating Eastern Washington to start the 1990-91 season. Since then Idaho State has won all eight season openers vs. Non Division 1 teams.

Exhibition Recap
Idaho State beat Walla Walla 92-45 and Park 76-38 in its two exhibition games. Against Walla Walla, the Bengals led 49-21 at halftime. Idaho State led by as many as 47 points late in the second half.  Idaho State shot 48.6 percent from the field and was led in scoring by Miguel Tomley's 22 points and Kolby Lee's 21.

Against Park, Idaho State led the entire game and held a lead by as much as 40 points late in the second half. Idaho State shot 40 percent from the field and held Park to 25.9 percent. The Bengals out rebounded the Buccaneers 49-35 and was led by Jared Rodriguez's 19 points and 12 rebounds. Idaho State forced 17 turnovers as Rodriguez also had three steals.   Miguel Tomley had 12 points and Kolby Lee chipped in 10.
