POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State women's basketball fell to the Northern Colorado Bears 53-52 Thursday Day in Greeley Colorado.
The Bengals (16-9, 12-4 BSC) only scored four points in the fourth-quarter as the Bears (10-12, 6-9 BSC) came back to take the victory on their home court.
The game started slowly for the Bengals. It took the Orange and Black two quarters to crawl back from a 9-0 deficit at the start of the game to head into the locker room only down 28-24.
The Bengals took over the game in the third quarter, outscoring the bears 24-10 and heading into the final 10 minutes with momentum up 10 points 48-38.
Heading into the fourth quarter the Bengals momentum simply stopped. Unforced turnovers hurt ISU as the Bears were able to score six points off of turnovers.
Idaho State was held to only one-of-twelve from the field as the Bears closed the gap and ended the game with a 52-53 victory.
Montana Oltrogge led the team shooting five-of-10 from the floor for 12 points. Callie Bourne and Tomekia Whitman both had 10 points each.
Bourne added two steals and three assists to her line and Whitman added three steals.
The two teams were even in the paint with 22 points each.
Idaho State WBB returns to the court on Saturday, Feb. 18 to take on the Sac State Hornets in Sacramento, Calif.
