POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State softball returns to the diamond for the first time in 2022 as they head to the Lone Star state to take on the UTEP Invitational at the Helen of Troy softball complex. The Bengals will face off against UTEP, Abilene Christian and Creighton in five games over three days.

The games will be streamed either on Youtube Live or on Conf. USA TV depending on the matchup. Conference USA TV is a paid streaming service and requires a paid subscription to access.
Due to schedule conflicts with the UTEP MBB program there will be no livestream of the Sunday game, but live stats will be available.

Key Returners
The Bengals offensively are returning three players who finished the 2021 season batting over.
300. Senior pitcher/hitter Mailee Newman led the Bengals last season batting .333 with a slugging percentage of .410 and an on base percentage of .407.
Rheanne Lewis returns to the lineup after batting .320 last season and she is followed by Frankie Tago who ended the season with a .311 BA and the best on base percentage on the team at .455.
Junior infielder Angelica Cano returns, a Big-Sky top-10 hitter who finished last season with a team-high .659 slugging percentage and a team leading eight homeruns.
The outfield duo of Isabel Cargill and Kaylee Butterworth combined for a .993 fielding percentage. Butterworth in left field finished the season at a perfect 1.000.
New Bengals in the Dugout
The Orange and Black welcomed eight new Bengals to the team this season. Freshman pitchers Haley Rainey and Samantha Mader. Infielders Brook Richards, Meah Almarez and Piper Tago. New outfielder Gracie Smith and catchers Jordan Kincaid and Isabella Hanson.
