Coach Carter's Thoughts
"SELU was the best team in the tournament with the two best outside hitters and unfortunately it took us to long to execute the adjustments we were hoping to make against them. They got hot and were tough to stop. We changed line ups after set 2 and the whole momentum changed. We got our offense rolling and we we able to jump out to a good lead and not give it back. Set 4 was a battle. We gave up a few easy points that you just can't do unfortunately against a really good team. We were about to make them crack and if we could have forced a 5th set we were confident we were getting better the longer we played." I believe SELU will win a lot of games this year.
Overall it was great to see that we can play well in multiple lineups. Unfortunately we don't have the setter middle blocker connection where we would like it. When we get that tuned up offense is really going to improve. We will get better as blockers and defenders as the year goes on. I'm glad we are in competitive matches. I can tell the confidence is growing. We won't wait to get good if we can be good now and the team is starting to believe! We believe in believe- Ted Lasso"
