SPOKANE, WA – The Idaho State Bengal Volleyball team never backed down Thursday night in Spokane. Facing down multiple match points in the fourth set, the Bengals showed their grit, coming back to win the set and force a decisive fifth.
In the fifth, the Bengals and Zags went back and forth with neither team gaining an edge over the other. In the middle of the final set, the Zags were able to pull out to a 12-10 lead. The Bengals once again didn't roll over, instead pushing back and tying the match at 13-13 In the fifth.
In what was the defining moment of the match, the Bengals appeared to win the match with a kill by Jamie Streit, the Zags challenged a pancake that occurred earlier in the rally and and won, forcing the game back into a 15-15 tie. The Bengals took it in stride earning another match point, and in evidence of the Bengals' working system, streit hit the game winning kill, for the second time.
