Prepare to Roar Campaign Sets Records, Again

POCATELLO, Idaho- For the third year in a row, the Prepare to Roar campaign saw the generosity of Bengal supporters shine en route to record setting results.

Thanks to the generosity of more than 465 donors, the Department of Athletics surpassed its target goal of $500,000 during the annual fall fundraising campaign with the total amount surging past $630,000. These funds provide immediate support across the department including the areas of nutrition, strength and conditioning, academic support, facility enhancements, and more.

"We could not be more appreciative of every donor who contributed to the campaign," said Director of Athletics, Pauline Thiros. "The money raised this year gives us a leg up on our competition and paves the way for even more success and opportunities for our teams."

To help reach these new heights, the campaign saw donations of $50,000 apiece from Bill and Marilyn Byrne, Joe and Judy Saratore, and the Football Alumni Team (F.A.T.). In addition, key contributions from 2022-23 Bengal Nutrition presenting sponsor Portneuf Health Trust, 2022-23 Cage Club presenting sponsor Phil Medor Subaru, Courtesy Ford Lincoln, and Meador Motors, 2022-23 Fast Break Club presenting sponsor Lookout Credit Union, and 2022-23 Quarterback Club presenting sponsor Gateway Transitional Care, helped move the needle forward.

"It was great to see the Bengal community come together for the Prepare to Roar campaign and set a very impressive mark for future years," commented Crew Keller, Associate Athletic Director for Development. "As ISU athletics supporters, you were challenged to pay it forward — and you gave in generous fashion, you were all in! It is so rewarding for our student-athletes to see just how supported and appreciated they are, and how the Bengal community comes together when called upon."

Growing each of the past three years, the Prepare to Roar campaign again saw a notable increase in total dollars raised, realizing a near $40,000 increase from the 2021 effort, and an incredible 175% increase in the number of donors from the previous year.

"Thanks to our donors this campaign was our most successful yet. As supporters, your commitment and dedication to the Bengal student-athlete experience is what will continue to drive us forward," added Thiros. "No matter what size gift you made, your impact is felt by our Bengals, and your participation matters."

For those still wishing to support the Bengals or renew a sport club membership, the campaign website will remain live for the remainder of the fall.
