Idaho State Graduate Shane Ostermeier Makes Generous Gift to Support Women's Athletics

Pocatello, Idaho — Idaho State University Athletics is proud to announce a generous contribution from Bengal graduate and former ASISU Student Body President, Shane Ostermeier, in support of the department's women's athletics programs, providing critical resources to enhance student-athlete experiences, improve team transportation, and support postseason opportunities.

Ostermeier's generous gift will benefit the Lady Bengals in several areas, with a focus on improving transportation and enhancing the experience for women's teams that qualify for postseason competition. A significant portion of the contribution will fund a new transit vehicle for the department fleet, expanding transportation capabilities for Idaho State's women's teams and helping the department better meet the needs of its student-athletes.

The gift will provide additional resources for women's teams competing in conference tournaments and NCAA postseason championships, helping alleviate travel constraints and allowing student-athletes to focus on competing at the highest level. By investing in these opportunities, Ostermeier is helping ensure Idaho State's women's programs have the resources necessary to pursue success while representing the University and Bengal Nation to the highest degree.

"Every athletic program deserves equal opportunities and support. With the continued success of our women's teams, removing tournament and championship travel constraints will allow our student-athletes to excel at every level. It is an honor to support women's athletics at ISU," said Ostermeier.

"I remember Shane from when I was just beginning my career at Idaho State and he was serving as an engaged and dedicated student body president," said Pauline Thiros, Director of Athletics. "It's wonderful to see that same passion for ISU and the Bengal community reflected in his generosity today. Shane understands the powerful role athletics can play in creating opportunities for our student-athletes, enriching the experience of all ISU students, and bringing our community together. His investment in our women's programs is a meaningful reflection of his love for the Bengals, and we are grateful for his commitment to helping our student athletes succeed."

Ostermeier's contribution reflects the meaningful impact Bengal alumni can make in advancing Idaho State Athletics and supporting the next generation of student-athletes. Investments in transportation, postseason opportunities, and the overall student-athlete experience help strengthen the department's ability to compete, grow, and provide opportunities for success across its women's programs.

Idaho State Athletics extends its sincere gratitude to Ostermeier for his commitment to the Lady Bengals and his investment in the future of women's athletics. His generosity will help create lasting benefits for student-athletes as they compete for championships and represent Idaho State University.

Through the continued support of alumni, donors, and the Bengal community, Idaho State Athletics remains committed to providing student-athletes with the resources and experiences necessary to excel in competition, in the classroom, and beyond.
