POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State volleyball team fell to the Weber State Wildcats this weekend. Making the Wildcats earn every point, the Bengals took Weber State to five sets (25-23, 19-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-7).
In the match the Bengals fell in the first set, but in the second and third came out firing on all cylinders, led by junior outside hitter
Sadie Bluth, who finished with a game-high 16 kills and an attacking percentage of .283, followed by
Asiah Sopo'aga (13) and
Jaydin Watts (12). Junior setter
Aliyah Sopo'aga led the team in assists with a season-high 48. The Bengals were all over the court on the defensive end,
Lily Liekweg led the way with a season-high 23 digs, while
Sadie Bluth finished with 21 and
Asiah Sopo'aga finished with 16.
Marci Richins tallied a season-high in blocks with seven, while
Meline Robarge and
Aliyah Sopo'aga both finished with two.
Idaho State will be on the road this week, traveling to the west coast to take on Portland State on Thursday, October 12
th and Sacramento State on Saturday, October 14
th.
