Women's Basketball Opens 2023-24 Season Against Park University Wednesday Evening

POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State Bengals are back to open the 2023-24 basketball season hosting the Park University Buccaneers in Reed Gym.
 
Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM. The Game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Live stats also available.
 
The game will also be broadcast on KISU 91.1 FM with Mark Liptak on the call.
 
Bengals are Back
Idaho State returns six Bengals to the 2023-24 squad.

The Bengals were picked to finish seventh in the coaches poll and eight in the media poll at the start of the season.
 
Eastern Washington was picked the favorites in the Coaches' poll while Northern Arizona was picked to win it all by the media poll.

•          The Park University Buccaeers are led by first-year head coach Ben York. York was promoted to head coach this offseason after spending the previous two seasons as assistant coach with the program.
• The Bucs finished the 2022-23 season 13-13. During the season, they played one Big sky opponent, Northern Arizona
University, a 111-44 loss.
• The Bucs played the Bengals in the 2021-22 season. A 109-56 win for the Orange and black in Reed gym. Five different
Bengals scored in double-digits. Estefania Ors led the Bengals with 18 points and four three-pointers.
• This will be the Bucs only game against a Big SKy opponent this season.
• The Bucs have one game before taking on the bengals, a Nov. 3 meeting with SAGU American Indian College.
• the Bucs have 29 players on their roster with only 5 freshmen on the list.
• The Bucs return Kayla Schroeder, their 2nd best scorer. Schroeder averaged 15.4 ppg in the guard position and averaged 5.8 threes per game in the 2022-23 season.
• Park outscored opponents 76.3 to 68.3 on average last season, a +8 scoring margin.
• The Buccaneers can score, against Pacific Union College last season, Park scored 117 points wth 13 three pointers
made in the contest.
