POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State women's basketball bounced back in their rematch against the Portland State Vikings bringing home the 59-43 win over the Big Sky Conference foe.
The win was a team effort on offense and defense relying on a strong assist and rebound margin.
After a slow first half, the Bengals came out of the room firing on all cylinders, outscoring the Vikings 39-22 in the second half as they ran away with the win.
The Bengals dominated the game on the glass, outrebounding the Vikings 41-22. Laura Bello and Callie Bourne combined for 20 of the Bengals' 41.
Callie Bourne led all teams in scoring with 22 points on nine-of-20 shooting from the floor. Laura Bello followed with a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double.
The Bengals' defense held the Vikings to 34 percent from the floor and no PSU players were able to score in double digits.
The Bengal ball movement was phenomenal, ISU had assists on 16 of their 24 made field goals. Bourne contributed four of them and is now eight assists away from breaking the all-time ISU career record.
