Big Performances, Late Game Heroics, Lead Bengals Past Griz

POCATELLO, Idaho – Staring down the rim with .9 seconds left on the clock, down one point. Cam Collman, with ice in her veins, hit both free throws to push the Bengals to victory over the Montana Lady Griz 55-54.

"We are so proud of our young team," remarked Head Coach Seton Sobolewski postgame. "So many great contributions from different people at different times in the game. I thought we showed great composure in a very tough environment against a very good team."

Callie Bourne and Laura Bello went off against the Lady Griz Thursday night. The Bengal pair combined for 44 of the Bengals' 55 total points. Bourne led the way shooting 46 percent from the floor tying her career-high of 26 points.

Bello had a huge double-double, scoring 18 points with 11 boards, two assists and two steals.

The Bengals took advantage of Montana turnovers. The Bengals forced 17 turnovers out of the Lady Griz and scored 27 points off of them. Idaho State only committed 10 turnovers with UM only scoring seven points off of them.

The Bengals have now won 10 of their last 12 meetings with the Lady Griz and their fifth-straight victory in Missoula.

The Bengals now head to Bozeman to take on the first-place Bobcats Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM MT.
