POCATELLO, Idaho- The Bengal volleyball team finished up their tournament in Laramie, Wyoming hosted by the University of Wyoming Cowgirls where they took on Wyoming and Tennessee Tech University.
In the match against TTU on Friday, we saw the Bengals taken down the Golden Eagles in four sets, 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-17).
Jamie Streit led the way for Idaho State in this match, finishing with 16 kills, and teammates
Jaydin Watts and
Sadie Bluth had 12 apiece.
Lauren Mena finished the match with 45 assists. On the defensive end for Idaho State and
Lily Liekweg and
Lauren Mena each had 12 digs and
Asiah Sopo'aga had 11, while
Peyton Michaelson,
Meline Robarge, and
Jaydin Watts all had four block apiece.
For the Bengals final match of the tournament, they faced off with Wyoming Cowgirls. The Cowgirls took it to the Bengals as Wyoming won in four sets 3-1 (20-25, 21-25, 27-25, 21-25).
Jamie Streit led Idaho State in kills with a season-high 17 and
Sadie Bluth had 11.
Lauren Mena led the team in assists with 38, and on the defensive end
Jamie Streit had 15 digs followed by
Lily Liekweg who had nine.
Idaho State volleyball returns home to Reed Gym on Thursday, September 21
st to open Big Sky Conference play versus the Portland State Vikings at 6 p.m..
