POCATELLO, Idaho – For the 12th straight time, the Idaho State Bengals women's basketball team emerged victorious over the Weber State Wildcats, taking down WSU 55-47 in Reed Gym Saturday afternoon in front of almost 1000 fans.
The Bengals move to 9-10 (5-3 BSC) on the season while the Wildcats fall to 6-15 (3-5 BSC)

How it Happened
The Idaho State Bengals nearly led from start to finish Saturday afternoon even if it might not have felt that way to the Bengal faithful in Reed Gym.
The Wildcats took a quick five to two lead in the early minutes of the first before the Bengals caught up.
Laura Bello hit a layup followed by a Nika Lokica three to take a seven-to-five lead. The Wildcats would hit a three to go up 8-7. The Bengals immediately responded with a Kacey Spink three-pointer to go up one. The Bengals would hold a lead until the fourth quarter in Reed.
The Bengal defense stifled the Wildcats in the second, holding Weber State to just seven points on two-of-10 shooting from the floor.
The Bengals scored 13 in the period behind Kacey Spink and Halle Wright to extend the Bengal lead to 27-19 headed into the locker room
The third quarter was almost disastrously slow for the Bengals. ISU was outscored 14-9 in the period with the Bengals just shooting three-of-nine from the floor.
The Bengals withstood the Weber onslaught in the third a took a slim, three-point lead into the fourth.
The fourth quarter has not been nice to the Bengals lately. With a slim margin headed into the final 10 minutes, the Bengals, led by Maria Dias, stepped up and secured their win.
Dias came out in the fourth on fire, shooting five-of-seven from the floor including a three pointer and two free throws for a team high 13 points.
Sophia Covello tacked on four points and the bengals waltzed out of Reed with their fifth Big Sky Conference win of the season.

· The Bengals extended their winning streak against the Weber State Wilcats to 12 games going back to 2018
· The Bengals shot 12-of-12 from the free throw line. The first perfect game from the line with 10+ makes since the Bengals went 10-for10 against Montana on 12/30/21
· The Bengals have won five out of the last six games in Big Sky play.
· The Bengals had a season-high home attendance of 993 against the Wildcats Saturday afternoon.
