POCATELLO, Idaho – The UND Fighting Hawks pulled away from the Bengals in the fourth quarter as Idaho State fell 78-72 in Reed Gym.
The Bengals fall to 4-8 (0-2 BSC) on the season and have one more Big Sky / Summit League matchup before resuming Big Sky Conference play.

How it Happened
After giving up three straight three-pointers to the North Dakota Fighting Hawks to start the game, UND held onto the lead for the remainder of the contest.
The 1
st quarter was a furious paced 10 minutes with UND coming out on top 21-20 after 10.
Maria Dias lit up the board for the Bengals with nine points on four-of-five shooting from the field.
The Hawks continued to produce offensively in the 2
nd quarter outscoring the Bengals 20-10 in the final 10 minutes of the first half.
Cam Collman led the Bengals In the 2
nd with a made field goal and three-of-four from the free throw line.
Coming out of the locker room, the Bengals weren't about to roll over. The Orange and Black roared back in the third, outscoring UND 18-11 led by
Tasia Jordan's six points. The Bengals excelled in the paint in the 3
rd, scoring 10 of its 18 points under the basket.
With 9:51 to play in the 4
th, The Bengals were able to cut the UND lead to one point with a pair of field goals by
Sophia Covello. The Fighting Hawks took advantage of foul call and pulled away again at the free throw line.
The Bengals continued to fight throughout the fourth, but were unable to close the gap, ending the contest with the 78-72 UND win.
Notes
- The Bengals were called for 25 fouls compared to UND's 17 leading to 32 free throw attempts for the Hawks.
- ISU had three players score in double-digits. Tasia Jordan led with 16, Maria Dias had 15 and Sophia Covello followed with 12.
- The Bengals outrebounded UND 41-38 Wednesday night. This is the first time in three games that ISU has finished with a positive rebound margin. Tasia Jordan led the Bengals with nine. Laura Bello and Maria Dias followed with eight each.
- The Bengals had an even 16-16 turnover margin, but scored 18 points off turnovers compared to UND's 13
- ISU's bench scored 32 points compared to UND's 13.
- The Bengals scored 72 points, 14 higher than the season average up to this point.
