POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State Bengals coming off of a thrilling 41-38 victory over the Cal Poly Mustangs in San Luis Obispo, CA, are back home this week to take on the Portland State Vikings in a pivotal Big Sky Conference Clash.

The Bengals will look to go above .500 for the first time since the 2018 season and the Vikings are looking to earn their first win on the 2024 season with a game looking to be a barn burner in the Dome.

The Vikings come into Pocatello off of a heartbreaking loss at home last week vs ranked UC Davis who scored a game-winning touchdown to sneak out of Portland with a 27-26 win.

This is the 27th out of the past 28 years that the Bengals and Vikings have faced off against one another. ISU leads the all-time series 27-19-1 and in Pocatello, the Bengals lead 15-7-1. In the past 10 games, the series is tied 5-5 with the Bengals taking the past 4 out of 5.

Despite shifting positions in the offensive line over the entirety of the season, the Bengal offensive line has stepped up, only allowing 1 sack in the previous three games combined. The one sack going to Cal Poly's Elijah Ponder the conference's leadingedge rusher.

Through three games, the Bengals are sitting at 3-3 with two losses to ranked FCS opponents and one loss to FBS Oregon State. The three wins now equal 2023's season results and tie the most wins since the 2017 season

The Idaho State Bengals are ranked 7th in the nation in passing offense averaging 289.8 yards per game. The Bengals got back on track against Cal Poly with 425 passing yards after two slower passing games against Montana State and Southern Utah.

The Bengal offense is ranked No. 9 in the country in first down offense with 137 on the season. Showing the offensive power of the conference, ISU is one of 4 Big Sky teams in the top 10 in the nation.
