Panikowski Earns 2nd Big Sky Player of the Week Honor this Season

POCATELLO, Idaho - For the 2nd time this season, Idaho State kicker Gabe Panikowski has earned Big Sky Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

The Bengal kicker had a smashing game at Cal Poly this weekend capped with an amazing walk-off field goal as time expired to win the game for the Bengals.  Panikowski started the game scoring the first points for the Bengals with a 33 yard field goal.

Panikowski then went 5-5 in his PATs as the Bengals fought in a shootout with the Mustangs. On the final play of the game, after sitting through two timeouts, Panikowski came onto the field and with a perfect snap from Scott Atkinson, drilled a 25 yard field goal down the middle to win the game 41-38 for the Bengals.

This is the 3rd Player of the Week honor for the Bengals in six games played.

Panikowski and the Bengals are back in action this weekend as the Portland State Vikings come to the ICCU Dome to clash with the Bengals. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM MT.
