POCATELLO, Idaho – It's rivalry week for the Bengals and the newly minted Potato State trophy is on the line. The Bengals (5-6, 3-4) welcome the  #7 Idaho Vandals (8-3, 5-2) to the ICCU Dome for the clash.

Idaho State is coming off of a 77-42 loss to Eastern Washington in Cheney this past weekend. The 77 points scored by the Eagles tied the program record for points given up to an FCS opponent. Idaho State continued its offensive production in the game, led by quarterback Kobe Tracy who had 370 yards passing with four touchdowns.

Idaho State receiver Jeff Weimer is sitting at 940 reception yards this season and will look to pass the 1,000 yard mark in the game against the Vandals.

The Dome is sold-out for the contest with just a few student-only section tickets remaining for Idaho State students. This would mark the first sell-out of the dome since the renovation was completed in Summer 2024.

Idaho State quarterback Kobe Tracy has thrown 24 touchdown passes on the year earning him the 4th best single season in the ISU record book, he needs three more against Idaho to tie Tanner Guellers 27 set in the 2018 season.

THE SERIES - This is the 45th meeting of the Bengals and Vandals. A series over 100 years old with the first meeting of the two teams in 1916. Over the years, Idaho has won about twice as many of the contests holding a 31-13 all-time series lead. in recent history. the Vandals have won the previous three matchups between the two schools. This is just the 2nd time Cody Hawkins has faced off against the Vandals as a Bengal. In Pocatello, the Vandals hold a 14-8 lead. In the past 4 meetings in Pocatello, the series is tied 2-2.

OFFENSIVE LINE STEPPING UP -  Despite shifting positions in the offensive line over the entirety of the season, the Bengal offensive line has stepped up, only allowing 8 total sacks this season in 11 games combined.

Train Bell Victory- The Idaho State Bengals broke a 40-year losing streak in Ogden this season as the Bengals took down the Weber State Wildcats 43-35. ISU and WSU brought back the Train Bell Trophy from the 1960's and the Bengals will hold the trophy in Pocatello for the next year.

Potato State Trophy - This season the Bengals and Vandals unveiled a new trophy to be played for between the two teams. The trophy signifies one of the major agricultural products produced by the Gem State and signifies the renewal of the rivalry with a blank trophy starting a new series record in 2024.

Cutting it Close- 5 of the previous 6 games have all been decided by one possession. In two of them (Cal Poly, Sac State) the Bengals put together walk-off final possessions to win the games.
