Bengals Fight to the End in Loss to Eastern Washington

POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State women's basketball team (10-14, 6-7 BSC) battled the Eastern Washington Eagles (20-5, 10-2 BSC) for 40 minutes in Reed Gym Thursday evening.

The Bengals took the Eagles to the last second, led by Halle Wright's 20 points with four-of-five from three and six-of-six from the free throw line career-high game.

The Bengals led after the first, halftime and third quarter with the Bengals largest lead ballooning to nine points in the 2nd quarter, but a 20 point surge by the Eagles in the fourth quarter resulted in the EWU win.

The Bengals dominated the glass, outrebounding Eastern Washington 43-26 with Laura Bello and Kacey Spink both recording double-digit boards at 12 and 10 respectively.

Turnovers plagued the Bengals in the game and the Orange and Black lost the turnover margin battle 23 to 11, the Eagles capitalized on the turnovers scoring almost half of their point total off of turnovers with 24.

All eight Bengals that played scored points in the game and the team took advantage of trips to the line going 11-of-13.
