Bengal Volleyball Adds Elizabeth Field to 2024 Coaching Staff

Idaho State volleyball Head Coach, Sean Carter, has announced the addition of Elizabeth Field to his coaching staff for the upcoming 2024 season.

"Elizabeth Field is an absolute home run for Idaho State Volleyball", says Carter. "She comes with very high recommendations from people within my coaching inner circle. Elizabeth has played at the highest level of Division I volleyball including a sweet 16 with Wichita State and comes to us with years of professional volleyball playing experience from around the world.

Elizabeth will bring new insights for training especially with our middle blockers and her experience as a one-foot attacker. Her outgoing personality and organizational skills make her perfect for our recruiting coordinator position.

I believe Elizabeth will be a great communicator and role model for our young women with her own knowledge and experience. She already knows our system so she will hit the ground running in August as soon as we start training!

I am absolutely thrilled that we were able to get such a great candidate and person."

Prior to joining the Bengals, Field coached U12 and U13 club teams for Empire Volleyball Club from 2021-2024. She also coached the Santa Rosa High School Girls' Varsity volleyball team in 2023 where, in her first year, she helped guide the team to their first .500 record and first playoff appearance since 2018. Field also coached the Healdsburg High Girls' JV team in 2022.

Field brings knowledge from an extensive playing career to ISU. Before she began coaching, she played professionally as a middle blocker in Europe for 6 years:
• 2018-2020 LiigaPloki in Pihtipudas, Finland (Field was captain of the 2019-2020 team and helped lead the team to their first ever Finnish Cup Championship win)
• 2017-2018 CS Dinamo in Bucharest, Romania
• 2016-2017 LiigaPloki in Pihtipudas, Finland
• 2015-2016 VT Aurubis in Hamburg, Germany
• 2014-2015 VK Královo Pole in Brno, Czech Republic

"As someone who is eager to transition over from player to coach, having the opportunity to work with Sean and Chelsea is a gold mine", Field tells us. "I played at Wichita State University from 2009-2013, and then spent 6 years playing professionally in Europe. I returned home and started coaching club and high school volleyball, and then decided to volunteer assist for Sonoma State in the spring this year. All throughout these coaching years I began to see just how much I loved it… I started considering coaching as a career and, as luck would have it, Sean and Chelsea Carter were looking for an assistant at Idaho State.

I am so excited to be in the same room as this stellar coaching staff and learn from people with immense volleyball knowledge. I'm really looking forward to being part of a competitive Bengal volleyball program!"

Before beginning her professional career Field played collegiately at Wichita State University, where she earned a 5-year full ride scholarship. Field helped her team qualify for the NCAA Division I tournament all years she was there (2009- 2013), which included a trip to the Round of 16 in 2012. Additionally, she was part of the teams that were the Missouri Valley Regular Season Champions and Tournament Champions in 2013. At Wichita State, Field ranks 4th All-Time in Sets Played, 8th All-Time in Attack Percentage, 8th All-Time in Total Blocks, and 8th All-Time in Block Assists.
Field received her MSc. in Sustainability, Energy, and Development from Durham University in the United Kingdom and a BA in Chemistry from Wichita State University.
