PROVO, Utah – The Bengals men's tennis team faced another pair of tough teams this past weekend, traveling down to Logan, Utah to faceoff with Utah State on Friday, followed by a match in Provo, Utah to take on BYU on Saturday.
In doubles at Utah State, the Bengals would fall behind early, and would be unable to catch up, falling in the #2 & #3 doubles matches and losing the doubles point.
DOUBLES
De Pellegrin/Sklenka (ISU) vs. Martirosian/Nobel (USU) 5-4, unfinished
Alkotop/Goubin (USU) def. Rawson/Bouman (ISU) 6-1
Fenollar/Rigby (USU) def. Ciguenza/Wensley (ISU) 7-5
Idaho State knew after dropping the doubles point, that if the comeback was possible, they would need to act fast in singles play. However, the Bengals' comeback attempt would come up just short, as they would split the singles matches, 3-3, with the Aggies, but fall in the team match, 3-4.

Following their tough 3-4 loss in Logan, the Bengals would need to regroup for the following day as they took on a 6-1 BYU squad defending home court.
In doubles play at BYU both the #2 and #3 doubles teams for ISU would battle closely, but both face the same fate, falling 4-6 to give BYU the doubles team point.
Valentino De Pellegrin and
Victor Sklenka's #1 doubles match would go unfinished for the 3
rd match in a row, as they were up 5-4 before the match was called.

The Bengals would not fare as well in singles play as they have the last few matches, only
Victor Sklenka would walk away from his match victorious, as he has now won his last five singles matches in a row and moves to 7-1 in singles play on the season.

The Bengals would fall to the Cougars by a final score of 1-6. Following the two losses on the weekend, ISU will move to 4-5 overall on the season.
