Pocatello, Idaho — In partnership with ICCU, the Idaho State University athletics department proudly announces that the ICCU Community Field will be renovated with the installation of new artificial turf. The venue will continue to benefit every Bengal sports team along with the community through youth sports leagues, Special Olympics, and other local and youth organizations, as well as ISU intramural use.
"This project is a testament to the power of partnerships and shared vision," said Pauline Thiros, ISU Director of Athletics. "ICCU has once again stepped up in a major way for our student-athletes and for the broader Pocatello community. Their commitment ensures that our athletes have access to a safe, high-performance facility and that our campus remains a hub for youth sports and community engagement. It's an incredible investment in both excellence and connection."
While the venue was originally built in 2013, ICCU's leadership and commitment to the student-athletes of Idaho State University have remained steadfast and resulted in a number of critical investments across numerous venues. This latest upgrade ensures that the practice facility remains one of the best in the Big Sky Conference and promotes athletic excellence across all fronts. The installation of the industry standard FieldTurf 2.5" Classic HD with CoolPlay Technology will represent the most state-of-the-art product to ensure safety and longevity in the venue.
The artificial turf surface will be 120 by 70 yards and lined for soccer and football. The expected completion date is July 31, 2025.
"At ICCU, we believe in supporting institutions and initiatives that uplift Idaho communities," said Michael Watson, Chief Marketing Officer at ICCU. "Idaho State University is a vital part of our region, and we're proud to continue investing in its future — especially in a project that benefits both the student-athletes and the broader public. This field represents more than a playing surface; it's a space where our entire community can participate in activities that enrich their lives and experience."
