Bengals Sign Transfer Guard Aspen Caldwell

POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State Women's Basketball has announced the addition of transfer guard Aspen Caldwell to the Begnal roster for the 2025-26 season. 

Caldwell, a 5-7 Junior Guard, comes to the Bengals from Utah Valley University, where she played this past season. Caldwell originates from  Idaho Falls and played her high school ball at Thunder Ridge High School before committing and playing her freshman season at the University of Idaho before transferring to UVU. 

"I'm so happy it has finally worked out to get Aspen in a Bengal uniform!" remarked Head Coach Seton Sobolewski. "She is someone we've known for several years and we've always been impressed with her aggressive scoring mentality." 

At Utah Valley: Caldwell played in nine games for the Wolverines in 2024-25. Against Park (AZ) she had a season-high nine points, five assists and six steals in UVU's dominant win. She played double-digit minutes against Bethesda (CA) and Seattle University in her playing time.

At Idaho: Caldwell played her freshman season at the University of Idaho in 2023-24. She had a season-high 13 points in season-opening win over Walla Walla, also scored 12 points at Idaho State. Caldwell finished with averages of 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game ... played in all 31 games for the Vandals 

High School: Prepped at Thunder Ridge High School in Idaho Falls ... named High Country All-Conference Player of the Year in 2023 ... named All-State and to the All-Tournament Team at the State Championships ... averaged 22.1 points, six rebounds, four assists and 2.5 steals per game as a senior ... first-team All-Conference and reached 1,000 career points during junior season after averaging 18.1 points and five rebounds per game ... holds school record for double-doubles, points average, points in a single game, career points, points in a season, career steals, career 3-pointers made, and career free throws made ... finished with over 1,500 points scored in her prep career ... played in the county all-star game ... helped team to three state tournament appearances and a district championship ... played club for the Idaho Flash.
