Bengals Fall on the Road at Utah, 1-6

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Idaho State women's tennis team dropped a 1–6 decision at the University of Utah on Saturday afternoon at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center, facing a strong Ute lineup in the Bengals' second match of the 2026 season.

Doubles

Utah secured the opening doubles point with a doubles sweep.

Singles

The Utes extended their lead with straight-set wins across the top half of the lineup before Idaho State's Veronika Zarovna broke through late in the match.

  • No. 1 Singles: Millie Day fell to Emma Kamper, 3–6, 2–6.

  • No. 2 Singles: Stefanya Shalakhova dropped a decision to Emmie Moore, 3–6, 3–6.

  • No. 3 Singles: Asem Shoybek was defeated by Sara Akid, 1–6, 0–6.

  • No. 4 Singles: Emmy Richards pushed her match to a deciding super tiebreak but fell to Emma Valletta, 2–6, 6–6 (5–7), 4–10.

  • No. 5 Singles: Sydney Morris battled before dropping a match to Hayley Roberts, 3–6, 4–6.

  • No. 6 Singles: Veronika Zarovna earned the Bengals' lone point with a decisive victory over Andjelija Markovic, 6–4, 6–0.
