POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State celebrates Homecoming on Saturday, hosting Cal Poly at the ICCU Dome in its second straight home game. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. MT on ESPN+.
The Bengals are coming off a 38-31 loss to then-No. 19 Northern Arizona that ended their eight-game winning streak. Idaho State rallied from a 38-21 deficit in the final three minutes and is No. 16 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and No. 17 in the AFCA Coaches Poll this week.
Idaho State is 50-40-3 all-time in Homecoming games and has won seven of its last 10. Cal Poly has visited for Homecoming twice before, and the Bengals won both games: 38-34 in 2017 and 40-31 in 2022.
Quick Look at the Mustangs
Cal Poly enters 3-3 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Mustangs opened with a 38-34 Big Sky win over Idaho, beat Central Washington 24-17, lost 30-20 at San Jose State and 38-35 to San Diego, and won 31-27 at Eastern Washington before a 42-34 double-overtime loss to Weber State last week. Five of their six games have been decided by eight points or fewer.
Running back Jaden Green leads the FCS in all-purpose yards (183.5 per game) and has run for 782 yards and five touchdowns at 6.9 yards per carry, including 269 yards at Eastern Washington. Quarterback Anthony Grigsby Jr. has completed 109 of 177 passes for 1,359 yards and leads the Big Sky with 15 touchdown passes, including four against Idaho. Tayvion McCoy leads the receivers with 34 catches for 490 yards and four touchdowns, and Fidel Pitts has 26 catches and four scores.
Linebacker Mikey D'Amato leads the Big Sky with 12.0 tackles per game (60 in five games), and Kenny Olson leads the team with 61 tackles, including 16 at Eastern Washington. Kaleb Pleis has four sacks and five tackles for loss, and RL Miller has two interceptions. Opponents have scored on 22 of 23 trips inside the Cal Poly 20.
Cal Poly leads the Big Sky in fewest penalties per game (3.67). Punter Dean Scrivner averages 44.1 yards per kick, with eight punts of 50-plus yards.
THINGS TO LOOK FOR
Idaho State trailed Northern Arizona 38-21 with 2:45 left before scoring 10 points in the final 64 seconds. Cooke hit
Julian Mason for a 13-yard touchdown, the Bengals recovered an onside kick, and
Mason Lindberg's 33-yard field goal made it a one-score game.
Jordan Cooke completed a season-high 34 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns against NAU. He moved to fifth in program history in passing yards (6,960), 569 behind Russel Hill for fourth, and into a tie for sixth in touchdown passes (41).
Idaho State leads the Big Sky and ranks No. 5 nationally in passing offense (313.6 yards per game). Cooke leads the league and ranks No. 7 nationally at 279.2 passing yards per game.
The Bengals lead the Big Sky in passing yards allowed (169.8 per game) and passing efficiency defense, and they rank No. 7 nationally in red zone defense.
Idaho State has outscored opponents 66-10 in the third quarter.
Zedekiah Anahu-Ambrosio leads the FCS at 32.1 yards per catch.
Idaho State's seven interceptions equal its total for all of 2025, and six different Bengals have one.
