FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho State men's tennis sophomore Sep de Visser has been named the Big Sky Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 3–9, the conference office announced Wednesday morning.
de Visser helped lead Idaho State to a 2-1 record and a third-place finish at the Boise State Spring Invitational, highlighted by wins over Big Sky preseason favorite Montana and No. 65 Gonzaga. The victory over Gonzaga marked the first nationally ranked win under Head Coach Oliver Good.
The sophomore from the Netherlands finished the weekend 2-1 overall, going 2-0 in singles play while competing at the No. 2 singles position for the Bengals.
de Visser opened the tournament with a gritty three-set victory over Montana's Baltaz Wiger-Nordas, battling back after dropping the first set to win 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 7-5 in one of the most competitive matches of the weekend. He followed that performance with a strong straight-set win against Gonzaga's Jay Fairclough, defeating the Bulldog 6-3, 6-4 to help secure Idaho State's victory over the nationally ranked opponent.
In doubles play, de Visser partnered with fellow Dutchman Lewie Bouman at the No. 2 doubles position, where the pair fell to Montana's Bittner/Tandberg, 2-6.
The award marks the first Big Sky Player of the Week honor for Idaho State this season, the first Conference honor of de Visser's collegiate career, and the first for a Bengal since Valentino De Pellegrin earned the recognition on April 22, 2025, during the final week of the 2025 regular season.
