POCATELLO, Idaho — Idaho State University Athletics has announced the appointment of Jason Alvine as the new ESPN+ and radio play-by-play voice for Bengal Women's Basketball, Volleyball, and Softball beginning with the 2026-27 season.
Alvine, who brings more than a decade of broadcasting and collegiate athletics experience, will serve as the simulcast voice on KISU and ESPN+ for Women's Basketball and will also handle ESPN+ play-by-play duties for Volleyball and Softball home contests. He will work closely with the Bengals' Sports Information and Media Relations team to deliver comprehensive and engaging coverage across platforms.

"Jason's extensive experience behind the microphone, combined with his deep understanding of collegiate athletics and his connection to Idaho State makes him an outstanding fit to represent our programs. He brings professionalism, preparation, and passion that will elevate the way we tell the stories of our student-athletes to our fanbase."
Alvine is no stranger to Idaho State University, having previously served as a women's basketball graduate assistant during the Bengals' 2015-16 Big Sky Conference runner-up season. Most recently, he was an assistant coach with the Idaho State Women's Basketball program during the 2024-25 season.

After spending a couple of years away from the airwaves, my passion for play-by-play has been reignited, and I look forward to that passion coming across in my calls," said Jason Alvine. Alvine's broadcasting résumé includes serving as the lead play-by-play voice for Football and Men's Basketball at the University of Northern Colorado on ESPN+, as well as extensive experience at Montana State University, where he called Football and Women's Basketball and hosted weekly coaches' shows. His background also includes radio broadcasting, podcast production, and in-depth game preparation across multiple sports.
A graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in journalism and mass communication, Alvine also holds a master's degree in athletic administration from Idaho State.
With a strong blend of storytelling ability, technical expertise, and institutional familiarity, Alvine is set to become a key voice for Bengal Athletics as the department continues to expand its digital and broadcast presence.
