Byron Hout begins his second season in Pocatello. After serving as the defensive line coach in 2021, Hout remained on staff under coach Ragle and assumed the Director of Football Operations role in May of 2022. 

Hout came to Pocatello from Montana State where he spent five seasons coaching the defensive line. During his time at Montana State, the Bobcats advanced to the FCS semi-finals in 2019 and the defense finished 18th in rushing defense. 

Prior to his coaching stint in Bozeman, he was the defensive graduate assistant at Boise State from 2013-15 and the defensive GA at Washington State in 2012. 

Hout played at Boise State from 2008-11 where he was a two-year starter. Hout earned his communications degree from Boise State in 2012 and a masters degree in early and special education in 2014.
