Dan Ryan enters his third year at Idaho State as the strength and conditioning coach.

Most recently, he spent five years working in strength and conditioning at UNLV (2010-2015).

During his time in Las Vegas he was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the UNLV football team, and he also oversaw the design and implementation of the strength programs for women’s track and field, cross country and men’s tennis teams.

Ryan also spent time in 2013 working as a performance coach at Philippi Sports Institute. In his time there, he focused on helping high school athletes develop speed, agility, strength, power and flexibility to improve athletic performance and prepare them for collegiate athletics.

Prior to working at UNLV and Philippi Sports Institute, Ryan spent four years at the University of Montana helping coach the football team.  He started his coaching career working as a volunteer student manager, but over time worked his way up to an undergraduate assistant coach.  In his two years as an undergraduate assistant, Ryan was in charge of the scout teams during practice and helped with special teams on game day.  He was also a member of the coaching staff that helped the Grizzlies appear in back to back FCS National Championship games.

Ryan is a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, a USA Weightlifting Level 1 sport performance coach and CPR/AED and first aid certified.

Ryan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television Production from Montana in 2010 and received his masters from UNLV in Sport and Leisure Services Management in 2012.

Ryan is married to wife Jenny.
